Designing App Store Screenshots That Actually Convert

Most developers upload raw screenshots and hope for the best. Polished listing graphics take real work, and that work is worth doing if you care about downloads.

When users search for a new app, their eyes go straight to the screenshots. The listing is your primary sales pitch, yet many teams treat it as an afterthought. Uploading raw phone screenshots might pass app review, but it rarely convinces users to hit the get button.

Raw captures often include cluttered status bars, weak contrast, or layouts that need context to make sense. A strong listing screenshot calls out one feature with a headline people can read at a glance. Getting that presentation right is tedious: cropping, copy, contrast, and consistency across every slot add up fast.

Apple's listing UI also fights you. Text that sits too close to the edge can get cropped or covered on different devices. Every screenshot has to survive review rules and still sell the app on a crowded results page. Most teams underestimate how many iterations that takes.

Aqua is built for that grind. Upload your captures, add your message, and export listing-ready screenshots without rebuilding the same layout in a design tool every release.
